Captain Mike has been a South Padre Island fishing guide for 18 years. Mike fishes local waters around South Padre Island at the south end of the Lower Laguna Madre bay system from South Bay (southern end) to Port Mansfield (northern end). Blast to Cast is coast guard certified and insured and only uses other guides that are both insured and CG certified. Half day private bay fishing trips are typically 5 hrs long. Full day private bay fishing trips are 7-8 hrs long. Species that are primarily targeted on South Padre bay fishing trips include redfish, speckled trout, black drum, flounder, snook, and/or triple tail. Preferred fishing techniques are with spinning rods and include soft plastics, artificial baits, fresh cut bait, and/or live bait fishing. Avid to amateur anglers are welcome.
