My name is Mike Lorenz and I have been fishing on Lake Vermilion in Northern Minnesota for over 35 years and have been guiding for the past 4 years. Most people tend to target walleye on Lake Vermilion and that's exactly what I primarily specialize in. The fishing is very good with many being in the eater size range of 15-20". There's a very large and healthy population of fish 24" and up. I can also arrange trips to target Musky and Bass which Lake Vermilion is also very well known for.

My favorite fishing techniques on Lake Vermillion vary from live bait presentations to lead core trolling on open water. This of course depends on the time of the year and what type of fishing the client is interested in. I fish out of a 18.5' Alumacraft Tournament Sport 185 powered with a 200HP Yamaha. It has a full windshield and can get you from one end of the lake to the other in comfort. I supply all the fishing gear, bait and will also clean the fish for you after we come back in.

I have small children of my own so I am very experienced fishing with kids. All my guided fishing trips on Lake Vermilion are family friendly. I even offer guided trips geared specifically towards kids to hopefully get them as much action as possible. These trips also tend to be shorter to accommodate smaller children but we can usually extend the trip if they are having a good time! I'm flexible as most parents tend to be. I am very customer focused and will do everything I can to make your trip enjoyable and comfortable on the water!
