Hooksetters Guide Service primarily guides the waters of Central and North Central Wisconsin. We have multiple guides so we can take out of a variety of different sized groups. Whether it’s a couple of buddies looking to fish, a family with kids or a corporate outing, we have have multiple boats and guides that can accommodate everyone. We are fully insured and licensed with the state of Wisconsin. Many of our fishing guides have over 25 years of guiding experience and some have over 45 years on the water.
If you're looking for fishing guides with strong guiding experience on Wisconsin River, Petenwell Lake, Minocqua Lake, Wolf River, Lake Alice, Lake Nokomis or Pelican Lake, you just found them. Some of the types of fish found on these lakes and rivers are musky, walleye, bass, northern pike and panfish, which we all target. We occasionally get some nice catfish and lots of white bass as well. On many of our fishing trips, we tend to catch well over 100 fish. Of course, that depends on which type of fish you're going after, type of season & time of day.
We use Daiwa and Shimano fishing reels on Elk River fishing rods. We find this is the best fishing equipment to catch walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike and panfish on Wisconsin River, Petenwell Lake, Minocqua Lake and Lake Nokomis. On open water, we'll have opportunities to catch walleye over 10 pounds, bass in the 5-6 pound range and musky over 40 pounds. Sine we are a year round fishing guide service in Wisconsin, we also offer ice fishing. The ice fishing in Central Wisconsin starts around the middle of December and usually lasts till March. Of course, this depends on temperatures, water and ice conditions.
