I'm Rod Shulley, I've been fishing the coastal rivers of Oregon for over 25 years. If you're looking for a fishing guide with strong guiding experience on Tillamook Bay, Depoe Bay, Columbia River or Willamette River, I'm your guide. Ever since I was little, I've had a strong passion for fishing and always learning new fishing techniques. Even though I've been fishing for over 25 years, a true master fisherman never stops learning. Every day, I try to learn something new and grow as a fisherman. I'm always looking for better ways and better techniques to catch fish. I've always enjoyed teaching people to fish and seeing their reactions as their line escapes the spool.

"GORP fishing guides have demonstrated professional-level skills and knowledge in the areas of local geographic features, natural features, 101 species identification, and history, as well as guest services and business management in the outdoor recreation and tourism industry.". Depending on where you're looking to fish, I prefer to meet at certain marinas or boat ramps to make your trip convenient and stress free. For fishing on Tillamook Bay, I prefer to meet at the Garibaldi Marina. If you're hiring me as a fishing guide on Columbia River, I prefer to leave from Sturgeon Paul’s in Hammond, Oregon. For guiding services on Willamette River, I prefer to leave from St. John’s Cathedral Park Boat Ramp.
The boat I offer fishing guide services on is a 28’ Alumaweld Formula Vee which is an aluminum boat that can comfortably seat up to 6 passengers. My preferred fishing techniques on Columbia River, Willamette River and Tillamook Bay are spin fishing, trolling, jigging and drift boat fishing. There are many types of fish on Columbia River, Willamette River and Tillamook, like walleye, coho salmon, chinook salmon, halibut, lingcod, steelhead, rock bass, shad, cod, sturgeon and many more.
